Created for the duration of a battle with SpawnSymbiote. As with all other Summoned units, it is created with stats derived from the summoner's size and Magic.
Symbiotes aren't very strong, but they can support your team by Regenerating allies at range with Rejuvenate before sacrificing themselves with GrassExplosion or SymbioteAttach, the former dealing poison damage in an area and turning non-lava tiles to grass, and the latter applying Regeneration and Strengthening on a single ally.
