Species

Background

Within the world of Portals of Phereon, portals connect the world of the player to other dimensions. New portals open every day, and within these other dimensions, a variety of strange and wonderous new humanoid races can be found. These races all possess the characteristics of animals or mythological beings, and can all be interbred to form creatures with novel combinations of traits and abilities.

There are two obvious categories of races in Portals of Phereon. Basic races and hybrid races. The basic races are more common, and can be bred with other basic races, to form every hybrid race in the game.

There are some examples of even rarer races, that can only be bred with certain combinations of hybrid races, or found and recruited in the portals.

Basic Races

This table shows the level type, base stats and movement type of each basic race. These factors determine how a character moves, and what stats they will tend to have more of, regardless of genetic stats.

Hybrid Races

For every possible combination of basic races, there exists a hybrid race with stats and abilities unique to this race. Combinations of basic races can produce characteristics and abilities that were present in neither parent.

Special Races

Sometimes some portals contain special biome/terrain where exist a special race with stats and abilities unique to this race.
