The Shadow Ghost is a magically intense being, boasting powerful supernatural abilities and suffering from supernatural limitations. The most stark limit is their Dark nature - the Shadow Ghost needs shadow to survive and thrive. In her natural environment, however, she can smite foes with the shadow itself, curse enemies with dark energies, and absorb counterattacks like night mist swallowing lost foals whole.
Shadow Ghosts are the prime shadow being - a whole sub-category of units that interact heavily with the shadow terrain. While a Shadow Ghost will struggle to prove her worth alone, she will perform excellently when supported a team geared for shadow units. In such conditions, Shadow Ghosts show that they are strong, fast and durable all-rounders with an emphasis on magical offense.
Outside shadow tiles, a Shadow Ghost can temporarily maintain the benefits of darkness with shadowform. This, however, costs mana over time, eating into her magical offensive capabilities. Further the Dark type must contend with multiple, common sources of extra damage.
Shadow Ghosts appearing as enemies may appear in multiple per hostile party. Shadow team bonuses magnify their already-dangerous offensive output. Their ShadowBlast can deliver unexpectedly high damage since its damage depends on how many shadow tiles the target is surrounded by.
Shadow Ghosts do not provide any inherent bonus toward overworld travel or activity.
When assigned at the Farm, Shadow Ghosts produce Dark Matter.
